The soaking areas consist of two pools and 6 cast Iron bathtubs. The Two pools are Concrete pools, One more shallow (2 feet deep), the other deeper (4 feet deep). The shallow pool features a waterfall created by the minerals spilling into the side of the pool that is the most heavenly massage you can receive. The deeper pool creates a perfect place for strengthening and stretching muscles or floating meditation.
When Mike first arrived at Mystic there was only one pool available for soaking. The Monroe Mound was previously closed to guests, but Mike had another idea. Taking advantage of the spectacular view provided by the Monroe Mound, he pulled some old Cast Iron bathtubs from the field and situated them on the hill. Now, One can soak up the water while soaking up the view of the Breathtaking Desert Sunsets or when the Sun goes down, checking out the Milky Way in all it's glory. The “Hill”, as it's often called, also serves as a one-of-a-kind acoustic concert venue. Where else can you soak in an outdoor bathtub while watching your favorite band perform?
The temperatures of the soaking areas are usually between 99-110 degrees Fahrenheit, nice and hot.The bathtubs are drained and cleaned daily, the pools are drained and cleaned weekly. With a consistent flow through at all times, the water stays clean and hygienic, although the water does have a cloudy appearance, this is naturally occurring due to the minerals in the water.
